Visitors gather for night time shopping and dinner departures at Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan, Italy. The new piazza sits at the heart of the Porta Nuova Garibaldi development adjacent to Milan’s main train station. Architects at AECOM’s London and San Francisco office won a design competition to provide landscape architecture and other design services on the project. Linked to Milan’s main public transport hub (Garibaldi Railway station), the square is a key part of one of Italy’s largest regeneration projects. The development and piazza supports mixed-use areas including top restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, banks, entertainment venues, office, residential units and nearby parks.
