AECOM is delighted to have 13 shortlisted projects in this years RICS Regional Awards.
Shortlisted category – Commercial (London)
White Collar Factory, Old Street – Winner
White Collar Factory is an innovative commercial development by AHMM and Derwent London, located on London’s Old Street. Comprising of six buildings, it provides 27,200 square metres of offices, studios, incubator space, restaurants and apartments, set around a public realm. AECOM provided cost management, monitoring and peer review of building services, sustainability, BREEAM, lifts, fire, acoustics, ITC, facades and security services on the project.

40 Chancery Lane, West End
40 Chancery Lane is a 9,290 square metre development that creates a mix of new office and retail space with the integration of an existing 19th Century building. The development has also provided a landscaped garden. AECOM provided cost management services on the project.

Shortlisted category – Design through Innovation (London)
Bloomberg’s European Headquarters, City of London
Bloomberg’s European headquarters is located in the heart of the City of London. Its 3.2 acre site includes 102,193 square metres of office space – home to over 4,000 employees. Awarded a BREEAM ‘outstanding’ rating, Bloomberg’s building is the world’s most sustainable office space, by design. AECOM provided cost management, CDM co-ordinator and risk management services on the project.

Shortlisted category – Infrastructure (London)
Ruskin Square MSCP, Croydon – Winner
Ruskin Square Multi Storey Car Park is a 565-bay refurbishment in the London suburb of Croydon. The state-of-the-art facility compliments the rest of the East Croydon located regeneration program. AECOM provided cost management and contract administration services on the project.

Shortlisted category – Tourism & Leisure (London)
Design Museum, Kensington
The London Design Museum’s new home is the redeveloped former Commonwealth Institute. The Grade II listed building has been revived after a decade of being vacant, into a 21st century cultural space which retains the buildings 1960’s modernist architecture. AECOM provided cost management and employer’s representative services on the project.

Shortlisted category – Commercial (West Midlands)
The Lewis Building, Birmingham
The Lewis Building project refurbished and extended the once department store, into 10,498 square metres of Grade A office space. The building was rebranded to reflect its former usage as Lewis’s department store. AECOM provided cost management services on the project.
Shortlisted categories – Commercial and Tourism & Leisure (South East)
Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa, Southampton – Highly commended in the Commercial category
The five-star Southampton Harbour Hotel and Spa has an iconic ‘superyacht’ design and sits in the desirable Ocean Village Marina. The hotel comprises of 85 luxurious rooms which are accompanied by 12 duplex apartments. AECOM provided project and cost management services on the project.
Shortlisted categories – Community Benefit and Regeneration (Northern Ireland)
St Bronagh’s Primary School & Youth Club, Rostrevor
St Bronagh’s Primary School and Youth Club is situated in the conservation area of Rostrevor Co Down. It comprises of a seven-classroom primary school, completed in August 2017 adjacent to the listed St Mary’s Star of Sea Church and a Youth Club, completed in April 2018. AECOM provided project management, structural and civil engineering and principal designer services on the project.

Space Studios, Manchester – Winner
Space Studios is a purpose built TV facility in the North of England. The project involved the complex conversion and extension of two redundant industrial sites. AECOM provided the MEP engineering on the project.
Shortlisted categories – Community Benefit and Design Through Innovation (East of England)
The Stephen Perse Foundation Sports and Learning Building, Cambridge
The Stephen Perse Foundation Sports and Learning Building is a new build of classbases, a sports hall and associated support space. It was built for the schools of The Stephen Perse Foundation and its facilities which include Cambridge’s first rooftop pitch, are also accessible to local state schools and community groups. AECOM provided quantity surveying services on the project.
Shortlisted categories – Regeneration and Tourism & Leisure (East of England)
University of East Anglia, Union House, Norwich
Union House has under gone a refurbishment and conversion of the majority of the existing student union bar, office and circulation areas. AECOM service provided quantity surveying and CDM-C services on the project.
Shortlisted category – Residential (East of England)
North West Cambridge, Cambridge – Winner
The North West Cambridge Development has created residential homes in a new mixed academic and urban community. AECOM were the architects on the project.
Shortlisted category – Infrastructure (East Midlands)
The Mill Lane & Gateway Public Realm, Leicester – Winner
The Mill Lane & Gateway Public Realm is a redevelopment of a former public highway in the center of Leicester’s De Montfort University’s main campus into a new public realm. AECOM were architects on the project.
