Since 1997, the Global Alliance – a partnership between BP and AECOM – has managed new and rebuild projects, upgrades and maintenance across BP’s service station network. So far this has delivered over $5 billion of build programmes, with savings in excess of $1 billion to BP.

The services cover the end-to-end execution of the building capital expenditure. AECOM performs all the project and construction management functions on behalf of BP, acting as the single point of accountability for the delivery of projects.

The Global Alliance has consistently provided strong flexible performance to the BP retail business, delivering high volume programmes that provide:

  • Health and safety excellence
  • Global alignment and standardisation
  • Increased speed to market
  • Increased design and build quality
  • Reduced build costs
  • On-going maintenance and support

The relationship has developed into the property segment, extending to managing over $1 billion of construction, refurbishment and upgrading of offices, laboratories, warehouses and plants around the world for BP Properties, BP Air and BP Lubricants.

The scope and size of the teams has changed throughout the years to meet BP’s needs. Today, over 150 staff operate for BP in the Netherlands, UK, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Poland and Turkey.
