The Warsaw Railway Node is a central railway node both for Poland and Europe. It plays a crucial role in long-distance travel (domestic and international) and in regional traffic for both passenger transport as well as freight. AECOM prepared a feasibility study covering over 60 railway lines forming the node, which are more than 900 km long. AECOM developed all possible options of the infrastructure upgrade together with financial and economic analyses. As a continuation, AECOM prepared an update of the preliminary design, engineering and construction designs, proceeded with the procurement of material for contractor selection, utility functional programs and the obtainment of required permissions (i.e. reassessment of environmental impact) necessary for completion of works.
