For more than 20 years, AECOM (has provided chemical agent training at the U.S. Army’s only live agent chemical defense training facility, first at Fort McClellan, AL, and at its current location, Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
The Chemical Defense Training Facility (CDTF) annually serves over 4,500 trainees from all components of the U.S. Armed Forces and some U.S. allies. The facility and programs provide realistic training in detection and identification of chemical weapons, followed by hands-on practice in decontamination of people and equipment.
AECOM’s chemical weapons experts oversee training, safety processes, quality control and the supply of certified protective clothing and equipment. The programs offered by the CDTF save the lives of American and allied forces, allowing them to continue their missions with minimal impact from the effects of chemical weapons.
