Mixed-use project will include 270 rental apartments

NEW YORK (Oct. 14, 2014) — On Thursday, October 9, 2014, Tishman Construction, an AECOM company, joined project developers Golub & Company and Wood Partners along with Village of Oak Park officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new 540,000-square-foot mixed-use development, Lake + Forest, in Oak Park, Ill.. As the project’s general contractor, Tishman will be responsible for the construction of the 21-story, 270-unit residential complex, which will include 30,000 square feet on the ground floor for retail as well as an enclosed parking garage with 588 spaces.

“We are proud to work with Golub & Company and Wood Partners to build this high-profile project in the Village of Oak Park,” said Gary Thalheimer, executive vice president of Tishman’s Midwest region. “The Lake + Forest development will be a wonderful addition to the downtown Oak Park area. We are committed to successfully realizing this vision not only for our clients, but the village, area residents and business owners as well.”

Construction on the development is scheduled to take 18 months, including 12 months for the completion of the new parking structure. Golub & Company and Wood Partners will own and manage the residential and retail portions of the development, and the Village of Oak Park will own and operate the parking garage.

“Lake + Forest is a milestone project that will enhance downtown Oak Park, generate significant economic benefits, and spark more investment in the area,” said Lee Golub, executive vice president of Golub. “Our working partnership with Tishman gives us confidence that we will deliver a successful and beautiful building that the community will embrace and be proud of for years to come.”
