On November 24, Mr. Ian Chung, AECOM PRC Leader & Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific, was invited to speak at the inaugural Greater Bay Area Conference jointly hosted by Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Guangdong Association for Science and Technology and the Macau Institute of Engineers. In his speech, Ian shared with over 200 participants from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau how Hong Kong engineers have been committed to enhancing the inter-connectivity of the Greater Bay Area.

He mentioned that Hong Kong’s strict urban planning, design and construction management systems and standards could provide system and standard reference for the development of a world-class Bay Area in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, and Hong Kong’s numerous engineering talents with an international perspective and rich experience would be great resources of knowledge and technology. Ian further suggested that engineers across the three regions should work together on a visionary study on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Planning to be announced soon, and formulate a mid-to-long term implementation plan.
