U.S. Department of Defense awards AECOM contracting opportunities worth up to US$28 billion

GERMANTOWN, Md. (Aug. 23, 2018) — AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm, announced today that it has been awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) research and development contract from the United States Department of Defense (DoD) Information Analysis Centers’ (IAC) multiple award contract (MAC) for the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC). The IDIQ contract, which was awarded through AECOM’s URS Federal Services International, Inc. subsidiary, has a maximum value of US$28 billion. Under the contract, Pool 1 is unrestricted and open, and 15 leading defense contractors may compete for task orders valued at more than US$15 million.

“We appreciate the opportunity and challenge of competing to support the important work of the IAC,” said John Vollmer, president of AECOM’s Management Services group. “This contract vehicle provides great flexibility to DoD and other departments’ ability to anticipate and respond to current and future threats to our national security.”

DTIC is the pre-eminent provider of technical research, knowledge management, collaboration and analysis within DoD. IAC provide critical, flexible and efficient research and analysis to DoD laboratories, acquisition program managers, program executive officers, combatant commands and other U.S. government agencies and departments, to include state and local governments, industry and academia. They represent thousands of scientists and engineers across the U.S. Through more than 200 technical area tasks, IAC has spent more than US$1.43 billion in research, development, technical studies and analysis in 2017. DoD IAC contracts have been identified as “best value vehicles,” and DoD encourages Requiring Officers and Contracting Officers across DoD to use the IAC as “vehicles of first choice.”
