Sanofi, a global life sciences company, is committed to improving access to healthcare, from prevention to treatment, for everyone in the world. As a major industrial actor in the
health sector and as part of its CSR, the company is committed to environmental protection and is investing in the restoration of several of its industrial sites. Since 2008, its century-old site at Vitrysur-Seine, France, underwent a remarkable transformation involving the decommissioning of existing buildings and infrastructure and the construction of a new facility.
As part of the development, AECOM conducted soil and groundwater investigations and remediation to enable the site, where chemical manufacturing activities had previously
been carried out since 1908, to accommodate the infrastructure and technology of tomorrow, treating more than 200,000 tons of soil. Through remediating the site, we have helped the client ensure the safety and environmental sustainability of its new research, development and production platform, where their skilled teams are working to discover, develop and produce innovative health solutions.
