Twilight falls over bike riders along the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

AECOM designed this 2,000-foot long over-the-water path that includes four scenic overlooks and fishing areas. The 15′ wide Schuylkill River Trail is easily one of the most-used parks in Center City Philadelphia with more than 19,000 users every week. The trail is popular with runners, walkers and bikers in both daytime and also after hours. The designers lined the entire path with solar-powered overhead lights to assist with good visibility at night. The boardwalk is another excellent addition to the park’s repertoire, connecting downtown to several universities and other outlying areas.
