Built in 1958, Sun Devil Stadium was in serious need of renovations to improve the overall fan experience. Arizona State University selected AECOM Hunt, in a joint venture, to bring their needs to fruition.
The project encompasses a new student athletic facility with renovations and improvements to the Stadium in three phases – totaling 800,000 square feet. Highlights include more than 13,400 seats that replace bleacher seating, with more legroom and arm rests; a 360-degree new concourse with increased airflow and circulation; and a 48-foot-by-113-foot video board on the north end.
Eventually, ASU officials hope to use this area for other events, such as concerts.
