AECOM appoints Shayne Hanran to lead North Western Australia region

BRISBANE (October 25, 2018) — AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm, announced today that it has promoted Shayne Hanran to the regional managing director role for North Western Australia overseeing nine offices and more than a thousand staff located in Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia. In his new role, Mr. Hanran will be responsible for driving the growth, client and industry engagement across the region.

“Having proven himself to be a talented leader over a number of years, Shayne has developed excellent client relationships across the resource dominated market in North Queensland and the Northern Territory,” said Todd Battley, AECOM’s chief executive of Australia and New Zealand. “He has also created a strong culture and sense of purpose amongst our people, helping to attract and retain a diverse and dedicated team.”

A registered professional engineer of Queensland, Mr. Hanran has extensive experience in the project management, design and construction phases of a diverse range of civil and structural projects. He also holds a position on the Board of Directors for the Port of Townsville and the Advisory Board for Engineering at James Cook University.

“I am looking forward to working with our valued clients across North Western Australia and helping to assist our highly skilled team in delivering benefits to their organizations,” said Mr. Hanran. “There is an enormous opportunity for growth through the intersection of infrastructure development and cities. Whether that is cross river rail in Brisbane, Inland Rail meeting the freight needs of our growing population, defense projects in the top end or an improving outlook for the resources sector, we are devoted to partnering with our clients to help deliver the best outcomes for them and the community.”

Mr. Hanran, who joined AECOM in 1991 as a design engineer, was previously the area director of North Queensland and Northern Territory for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). He will join the ANZ leadership team and report directly to Mr. Battley. He will also be relocating with his family from Townsville to lead the region from AECOM’s Fortitude Valley office.
