Colette Hayes
Planner, Townsville

As a planner based in the AECOM’s North Queensland Environment Team, a large part of my role is about managing change – whether it’s occurring in a pristine environment, a small regional township, a buzzing metropolitan city, or a patch of grass in the middle of nowhere.

Since joining AECOM my professional career has shifted from commercial and residential developments to facilitating varying scales of infrastructure projects across Queensland.  That nature of providing infrastructure generally requires a trade-off, positive or negative, between the values on the triple bottom line – environment, community and economic.  Managing this trade-off and the need for infrastructure, is especially important as the world faces the large scale issues of population growth, climate change and resource depletion.
