They’ve landed!

AECOM’s partnership with not-for-profit social enterprise Pollinate Energy  grows ever stronger in 2016, with three young professionals from Australia and New Zealand venturing to the cities of Hyderabad and Kolkata, India, to promote safe alternative energy solutions to the local population.

After touching down on 28 March, Townsville Planner Collette Hayes, Sydney-based Principal Creative Communications Advisor Juli Anderson and Graduate Engineer – Energy, Beth Scott from Auckland, are now continuing the work of previous AECOM “Pollinators” to improve the lives of India’s urban poor through providing access to sustainable and affordable energy products.

Juli, who is driving the cause in Kolkata, described the opportunity to contribute to lasting positive change in underprivileged communities as an irresistible drawcard.

“I’ve always tried to find and share stories where AECOM’s projects and leadership make a difference. Pollinate is one of these stories – it is an amazing organisation with a solid mission to improve the lives of India’s poor,” she said.

As of November 2015, Pollinate Energy has reached more than 52,700 people in 1540 communities, installed more than 11,400 sustainable energy solutions (including solar lights), and reduced CO2 emissions by 2.32 million.
