Principal, AECOM Capital

Kevin Murphy is an experienced investor with over ten years of experience as both a private equity investor and as an advisor, all with a focus in the energy sector. Murphy has executed over 14 private market transactions over the past eight years and his experience includes investment underwriting, value creation and monetization.

Before joining AECOM Capital, Murphy was an investment professional with Och-Ziff Capital Management where he focused on middle market energy investments in North America within the midstream infrastructure, upstream oil & gas and oilfield services subsectors. Murphy was a lead member of the investment team that underwrote investments into Extraction Oil & Gas, that participated in two midstream ventures, and that underwrote a preferred equity investment into PennTex Midstream Partners, LP, amongst other investments.

Prior to joining Och-Ziff, Murphy was an analyst in Goldman Sach’s Principal Investment Area from 2010 to 2012 where he focused on energy and industrial sector investments across the capital structure. From 2008-2010, Murphy was an analyst at Credit Suisse in their leveraged finance origination and restructuring group where he focused on high yield and leveraged financings for energy and real estate companies. Murphy holds a B.S.E. in electrical engineering and a B.S. in economics from Duke University.
