Hunt+Danis Celebrates Groundbreaking of Daily’s Place at EverBank Field

City of Jacksonville and Jacksonville Jaguars’ sports complex expansion project includes a new covered flex field and amphitheater

JACKSONVILLE (Aug. 22, 2016) — Hunt+Danis, a joint venture of Hunt Construction Group, an AECOM company, and the Danis Group of Companies, celebrated the groundbreaking of the new amphitheater and covered flex field at EverBank Field, home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, on Friday, August 19. Hunt+Danis is the construction manager for the sports complex expansion project, which represents phase two of a $90 million investment by the City of Jacksonville and the Jaguars. The new complex will be known as Daily’s Place.

Underneath an iconic flowing roof design, the 94,000-square-foot covered flex field and 5,500-person capacity amphitheater project will be a combination of a state-of-the-art entertainment venue and indoor practice facility. Featuring retractable walls, Daily’s Place can be opened up to the environment and transformed into a multi-use facility for events such as concerts, conferences and exhibitions.

“We were honored to have built EverBank Field over 20 years ago and that the Jacksonville Jaguars have once again trusted our team to expand and improve the facility,” said Jeff Fisher, Project Executive, Hunt Construction Group. “Today, we celebrate our partnership with Danis Construction and breaking ground on a major construction project that will have enormous impact and benefit to the Jacksonville community.”

“Our joint venture with Hunt Construction Group will result in a state-of-the-art multi-use facility on time and on budget,” said Steve Betz, President, Danis Construction. “This vital expansion project will bring more events and people to downtown, improve the quality of life in Jacksonville, and elevate the experience around Jaguars game weekends and other events at EverBank Field.”

Daily’s Place will be situated between Gator Bowl Boulevard and the south end of EverBank Field. The covered flex field will be a climate-controlled, covered pavilion with multi-use synthetic turf. Sliding hangar doors will allow the space to be used for both enclosed and open air formats. The facility will provide a venue for the team to practice during inclement weather, and will also allow for additional fan entertainment events on Jaguars game days, as well as year-round events for other special purposes.

The amphitheater is designed to accommodate 5,500 attendees with additional room for temporary seating. Daily’s Place will be situated under a continuous roof that will cover both the amphitheater and flex field.

Construction on the EverBank Field expansion project began in May 2016 and completion is scheduled for May 2017.
