Less is certainly more – as described in the latest Sustainability Report for Asia.

We live and work in over 20 major cities in Asia with each office having a commitment to sustainability through the monitoring and reporting of waste, travel and energy use.  Each year we report on the environmental footprint of our offices assessing our performance as well as the actions we’ve taken over the last twelve months to demonstrate our sustainability commitment.  This report shows that our gross revenue increased per energy consumed, paper used and air kilometers traveled by 20.4%, 29.7% and 57.1% respectively from the previous year’s results.

What this means is this: that as a company we have been able to increase our value by using fewer resources.

The report shares feedback from employees on what they think about sustainability through an online survey:

  • 77% agree that having a good understanding of sustainability issues, enables them to offer clients more sustainable outcomes in their projects
  • 64% state that their line managers support them if they take time to learn more about sustainability or take part in sustainability-related employee engagement initiatives
  • 87% are committed to doing their part to help AECOM address its sustainability issues and reduce its carbon footprint

The report features a number of the sustainability projects we were involved in, such as the One Million Barrels Rainwater Harvesting and Filtration Systems in the Philippines and the Urban Community Empowerment through Hydroponics in Indonesia.

AECOM in Asia is proud to embrace our mission, ’built to deliver a better world’ through the projects we carry out, the way we deliver them, and the manner in which our people go beyond their work to serve their communities
