Christchurch team wins RICS Quantity Surveying Team of the Year award

AECOM’s Quantity Surveying (QS) team in Christchurch has been named Quantity Surveying Team of the Year at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Annual Awards. This significant award recognises teams who have achieved outstanding results for the built environment sector.

The disastrous Christchurch earthquake in 2011 was met with a steadfast response, giving rise to hundreds of new buildings across the city. AECOM acted as a key element in this response; delivering invaluable QS services to three of the largest and most prestigious rebuild projects.

These projects include the new $300 million Metro Sports Facility, the new Central Library and the strengthening and refurbishment of the Art Gallery.

Through the expert advice and assistance of AECOM’s team, projects are underway to give the ‘Garden City’ some of the best, most modern facilities in the country.

Team Leader Ross Davidson commented: “This is superb win for the team here in Christchurch and a justified result for all the hard work put they have put in over the past few years. We look forward to continuing to play our part in the rebuild and regeneration of our wonderful city.”

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is the world’s leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property and construction. AECOM is extremely proud of the team’s efforts and congratulates them on their outstanding award.
