AECOM is part of the team managing and operating the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LNLL) for the DOE’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Located in Livermore, California, LLNL was founded in 1952 to enhance the security of the United States by advancing nuclear weapons science and technology.

The Laboratory’s mission is to develop and apply science and technology to ensure the safety, security, and reliability of the U.S. nuclear deterrent; reduce or counter threats to national and global security; enhance the energy and environmental security of the nation; strengthen the nation’s economic competitiveness; and solve other emerging national security challenges.

LLNL is ensuring the safety and security of the nation through strategic missions in bio-security, counterterrorism, defense, energy, intelligence, nonproliferation, science & technology, and weapons & complex integration. With the innovation and knowledge brought to the leadership team by AECOM, the University of California, and Bechtel, LLNL is able to develop novel solutions for the challenges posed in the nuclear field.
