AECOM announces new leadership roles within its Mid-Atlantic Region water practice

LOS ANGELES (May 15, 2017) — AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm, announces the appointments of Daven Oswalt and Paul Delphos in new leadership roles within its Mid-Atlantic Region water practice. Mr. Oswalt will serve as the regional business leader for the company’s water practice in the Washington metropolitan area, including Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., which includes more than 2,000 employees across 15 offices. Reporting to Mr. Oswalt, Mr. Delphos will serve as the firm’s Tidewater, Virginia region water practice leader.

“I’m excited to have Daven and Paul as part of our team,” says Daniel Faust, AECOM D.C. Metro executive. “We believe the civil infrastructure market in the D.C. Metro and Mid-Atlantic region will expand exponentially over the next five years, and these key appointments will position AECOM to catch this wave of growth.”

Mr. Oswalt, who joined AECOM as a vice president in August 2016, has more than 30 years of experience across all aspects of water and wastewater project and construction management, as well as business development and operations responsibilities. Previously, he served as a senior national business development director as well as a client service manager and principal-in-charge for some of the largest water programs in the country. He began his career working in government for both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, followed by serving as director of communications with the California Environmental Protection Agency. He is a member of the U.S. Water Alliance and the Water Environment Federation.

“I’m thrilled for the opportunity to lead AECOM’s water practice in the D.C. area,” says Oswalt. “AECOM has a strong reputation in the water industry and I’m eager to deliver solutions for our clients and drive market growth in this area.”

Mr. Delphos, based in AECOM’s Virginia Beach, Virginia, office, joins AECOM with nearly 25 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry. Previously, he worked on numerous pilot and membrane-related projects with capacities totaling more than 350 million gallons of water per day. His background encompasses advanced water treatment projects ranging from groundwater membrane treatment, high-rate clarification, granular activated carbon and ultraviolet to surface water desalination facilities. Mr. Delphos has co-authored several key design manuals, such as the 4th and 5th editions of the America Society of Civil Engineers/American Water Works Association (AWWA) on Water Treatment; and the AWWA Manual of Practice 53, Microfiltration and Ultrafiltration.
