Patrick Cho, Mechanical Engineering

Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) – East Los Angeles College, California

I was born in Los Angeles and raised in Columbia, Maryland. Growing up, I had a tendency to take everything around me apart. I always wanted to understand how things were made and why they were put together in a certain way. Over time, this curiosity led me to develop an interest in engineering.

Previously, I worked in commercial lighting (designing and testing LED fixtures), audio/visual product protection, designing transportation containers, and in various machine shops using CADD and CNC machinery.

The challenge of being able to analyze a concept or system and break it down to its fundamental parts is the main reason I want to become a mechanical engineer. My goal is to explore as many engineering fields as I can to learn as much as possible.
