(Dec. 14, 2015) — AECOM employees show their commitment to improving the lives of people in communities all across Canada.
With a long history of contributing to programs dedicated to making the world a better place, AECOM’s community engagement activities form the core of our social responsibility program. One such endeavor is our participation in the United Way (and its Québec counterpart, Centraide) annual fundraising program.
Our United Way 2015 Campaign officially concluded in early December, raising a total of $235,877.58 through employee pledges and local office fundraising activities, supported by a 50% corporate match.
AECOM employees across Canada donated directly by enrolling in the voluntary payroll deduction contribution program, while campaign coordinators in our offices planned a range of creative fundraising events, including bake sales, Halloween parties, silent auctions, marshmallow towers and eBingo.
“Our campaign was a success given the wide range of fundraising efforts undertaken and the level of enthusiasm shared by everyone involved,” said Doug Allingham, executive vice president, Canada “While the total money we raised is an important achievement, I’m more impressed with the caring and generous spirit demonstrated by our people, who truly reflect the AECOM culture.”
