AECOM has been providing environmental compliance monitoring to the Callide Mines for over three years.  This fully installed and managed system covers both noise monitoring (noise logging) and air quality monitoring to quantify impacts, from both mine operations and blasting.

A variety of monitor types make up the fleet including sound level meters, overpressure and vibration monitors, BAM’s, fume monitors and a weather station. Calibration, maintenance and data management of all monitors is included in the contract and undertaken by qualified AECOM staff.  The system provides a web based system to allow both AECOM and Callide staff to access results, allowing quick decisions and effective management of their environmental responsibilities.

The monitoring program was a finalist in the Time Saving category of the 2014 Queensland Mining Contractor Awards.
